Very professional and friendly guides. They make everyone feel at ease. Matt and Lily were our tour guides. They were very encouraging and understanding. Everything is well-maintained and beautifully presented. There are great vistas to view from the staging towers. Plan at least three hours for the zip lining.
The guides are so knowledgeable, the area is rustic and the river has so much beauty. We were novice rafters and the 2 & 3 rapids were just the right level of exciting!! A great value for the length of the trip downriver too.
Everyone who knows me would’ve never believed how much of an adventurer I became with French broad adventures! The team is knowledgeable and because they’re calm and fun they bring that side of you out! I would’ve never thought about water rafting and jumping into the river but I did, and I would’ve not traded it for the world! It is an experience that I will forever cherish and given me confidence that I am thankful for! THANK YOUUUUUU!! More than five stars if I could! Thank you Robert (water rafting) and Sam and Thomas (zip lining) an experience of a lifetime!

Our first white-water rafting experience as a family was fantastic! Jim was an excellent guide who made our journey down the French Broad one we will never forget. From squeezing our raft through the smallest opening to running us up on rocks only to spin away and on down the river. So fun! Our oldest daughter even did a little cliff jump halfway down the route. My husband is a Civil War buff and Jim shared his knowledge of local Civil War stories, and also some history of the river and surrounding area. Highly recommend this adventure!
These guys are the Best! Don't fall for the imposters. We had an awesome time, and the rapids were excellent. That being said, the guide is the most important element of the trip, and Caylor made sure we went through the rapids safely and smoothly. White water rafting can be dangerous. Be sure you have an experienced guide.
Ahhhmazing!! Everyone was so courteous and skilled. Sean was a hilarious guide to and from the rafting area. Divans was our river guide and not only did he show us a fantastic time but he was funny and a great showman. No one in our raft had ever been before and we all had a blast. Can’t wait to return on our next time in the area to do the 9 mile trip.
My daughter and I had a great time ziplining through the mountains! Matt & Joe were our guides, and they always made sure we were safe, and they kept it fun! the ziplines were so much fun. Highly recommend!
I never thought riding a bike again was going to be this exciting. using an electric bike would be as fun as it was. Our bike guides were knowledgeable about the area, funny, and very experienced. All of the staff there were very helpful and so nice! We had an amazing time! Perfect!
Excellent learning experience: Googd balance of hands-on + classroom instruction. It was great having multiple instructors. This really helped provide students with varying techniques on paddling strategies and approaches to river running. Learned a ton and had fun doing it.
Had a fabulous time whitewater rafting with Calvin! He is super sweet and made the experience fun, with all of us feeling very safe with him as our guide. It was just the right amount of whitewater for us – nothing too crazy, but enough to be exciting. We will definitely go again!

Beautiful views, a group of well-informed guides who know & love the river & the beautiful surrounding community...and funny, friendly personalities too! If you are in the area and you want to ride the French Broad, these are the guys to do it with!
This was my first time ever going zip lining and it was a great experience! The paths and equipment were very well maintained. The guides, Thomas and Matt, did an awesome job. They were very patient with everyone and wanted to make sure we all felt comfortable. They also had lots of commentary and jokes throughout the tour which was a great bonus. I will definitely be back!
This was our families second adventure with French Broad. 2 years ago we did the 5 mile white water rafting, and last month we did the 9 mile. (they wanted more adventure!) I cannot say enough about how friendly, knowledgeable and professional the staff/guides are. The lunch they prepare for you on the 9 mile ride is fantastic! Of course nature takes care of the majestic views. Love that they allow you to get out and swim and even jump off cliffs! For the second time in 2 years everything went as planned. Not one hiccup!! AAAA++++
Such an amazing experience! Marty was our tour guide for a family of 5, and we couldn’t have been happier! Thank you Marty for making this new adventure such an outstanding experience! (: For families looking for more info - we were provided safety jackets, helmets, and many safety talks. The majority of us had never gone white water rafting so we were a mix of nervousness and excitement! We did the half day, ~4 hour ride, and took on a mix of Class 2 and 3 rapids! Would highly recommend and we will be back!
Amazing time our family enjoyed it so much!!!!! Tom was the best guide ever!!!!!! We will definitely be doing it again soon!!!!! The pictures they took of our family were the best. The ladies in the gift shop were so nice and friendly.
This place is awesome. Have been coming here for years and somehow the experience keeps getting better. The people make a huge difference providing a good time while always feeling safe. They have rafting for experienced and novice, ziplining, and canyoneering (which is newer) available to try. The waterfall used for the repelling is awesome. The treehouse stop on the ziplining is ridiculous. Definitely add this to your Asheville vacation, you wont regret it!

Had the most incredible time and it truly was AN ADVENTURE!!!! Allie and Stephen were great guides. They made sure that we were very safe, down to making sure that we were always buckled in while we drove their and back! It's great to do this with people that have lived there their whole lives, love nature and truly care about making sure that we were so happy with our experience! This was seriously one of THE BEST EXPERIENCES OF MY LIFE. It's exhilarating, not scary and perfect for anyone that wants to be a little closer to nature in a fun way. Check them out, make life long memories and have fun!
There was a group of 4 of us for the easy riverside trip. It was incredible! Our guides were great at working with us when giving instructions and were super knowledgeable about the region. We will definitely be back.
A fantastic class. The instructors were all knowledgeable and well prepared. The learning environment was welcoming and fun.
This was our third trip with French Broad Adventures. They are very organized and safety conscious. We had a wonderful time and are already planning on next year.
