Our half-day whitewater rafting trip lasts 3-4 hours depending on the river level and includes a stop for water or lemonade by the river about half way through the trip. After a short 10-minute bus ride, we'll arrive at the put-in for the trip in Barnard, NC. Along the way, our expert guides will navigate you as you paddle through a series of Class II and III rapids in between calmer sections where you can relax and admire the scenery and wildlife of the Pisgah National Forest. At the end of the trip, after covering 5 miles of the river, we'll arrive at the Stackhouse takeout, where we will complete the trip and return to the outpost.

What They Say
View More TestimonialsHad a fabulous time whitewater rafting with Calvin! He is super sweet and made the experience fun, with all of us feeling very safe with him as our guide. It was just the right amount of whitewater for us – nothing too crazy, but enough to be exciting. We will definitely go again!
Mitch & Michael are always great taking care of our group before we get there and the guides do a 5-star job taking care of us once we arrive. This go round was guided by Jonah & Timmy. 10/10 recommend!
Our first white-water rafting experience as a family was fantastic! Jim was an excellent guide who made our journey down the French Broad one we will never forget. From squeezing our raft through the smallest opening to running us up on rocks only to spin away and on down the river. So fun! Our oldest daughter even did a little cliff jump halfway down the route. My husband is a Civil War buff and Jim shared his knowledge of local Civil War stories, and also some history of the river and surrounding area. Highly recommend this adventure!
Took the whitewater rafting 1/2 day trip with Shawn as our guide - it was a blast. Great to be on the water and saw 2 juvenile bald eagles. We were majorly the delayed by a car accident that shut down the road in, and the crew waited for us to arrive. Thanks for going above and beyond!
There are five of us and the kids are tough critics. We had a great time throughout. The views were amazing and it was just the right mix of stimulation and peace.
Our family of 5 did the Canyoneering Experience out of Asheville, NC. It was a fantastic waterfall rappel. Challenging for sure, but also so exhilarating! We brought the oldest people on the trip 45 and 46 and also the youngest 17,15,13. We all LOVED it! Thank you Alex and Avani for a great experience.
