The Best Waterfall Rappels on the East Coast

While North Carolina may not be the first state that comes to mind when thinking about rappelling, the mountains in Western North Carolina are home to hundreds of waterfalls. Plus, the Blue Ridge Mountains host the tallest peaks east of the Mississippi, which means you’ll see waterfalls as tall as 800 feet.

The mountain heights, vast wilderness areas, and abundant water make Western North Carolina the best waterfall rappelling destination on the East Coast.

Skills Required

Waterfall rappelling requires a decent amount of physical and mental effort. For FBA waterfall canyoning trips we require participants to be at least 12 years old, be comfortable with heights, and be able to hike three miles with relative ease.

FBA expert guides provide all necessary equipment and rappelling training. Plus, we are very familiar with Asheville area forests and terrain throughout the seasons, so you can be assured we can anticipate any potential hazards.

A sense of adventure is highly encouraged! We’re also happy to provide cheerleading when necessary. You CAN do this!
